1. 'Clay Pigeon' model for the f6f
Background
Welcome to the 'clay pigeon' model for the grumman_f6f_hellcat for DCS world. This is not a 'mod' as such, but rather a low-poly model, with no animations, and no cockpit (nor cockpit systems).
It's meant as a simple aircraft model of the f6f as an AI opponent and target to fly against to include in missions, by spawning in-flight (hence the term 'clay pigeon').

[edits made to separate various elements of the aircraft, from the original model, then reassembled, so that these various elements may be textured separately. Such examples might have included: glass canopy, canopy frame, nose, engine nozzle (exhaust), engine intake, and occasionally sections of the fuselage, tail and wing to permit the placement of a roundel or other identifying image such as a service/squadron designation or registration serial number. Landing gear and wheel well covers are in the retracted position, and the canopy is closed, which may differ from the original model. Additionally, a reduced-geometry format (with fewer vertices, using Blender functionality) was prepared and saved as .obj format for Tackview mission playback. Also note: the livery used for the aircraft and textures supporting the model differ from that of the original model.]

3. Tacview
Tacview note...
If you wish to play back a mission in Tacview, and would like a model for the f6f appear in the Tacview mission playback, the 'Shapes' folder contains an '.obj' file (the aircraft model), and also an '.xml' file (necessary, so Tacview has a reference in it's database to load the model).

In your Tacview installation, place the '.obj' file in the folder...

		Windows(C:)>ProgramData>Tacview>Data>Meshes

Then, also in your Tacview installation, place the '.xml' file in the folder...

		Windows(C:)>ProgramData>Tacview>Data>Database>DefaultProperties

If all works, then when you replay the mission in Tacview, the f6f model should automatically be selected by Tacview as the model for the replay.

Enjoy!
